Leoni Furniture
Ezequiel Leoni was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1968. In 1994 he began his journey in the art world, creating lamps and other functional pieces from found materials.
He arrived in Tucson, Arizona in 1995, adding new fabricating techniques to his repertory of metal working skills. He began showing his designs at Obsidian Gallery in 1996. His fabricated steel lamps were contemporary, sculptural and sometimes whimsical. The popularity of his designs resulted in many private commissions for the artist.
In WashingtonState in the late '90s, Leoni worked with Russell Jaqua and Steve Lopes, learning blacksmithing and working with stainless steel and applied textures.
When Leoni returned to Tucson in 2002, he had significantly expanded his inventory of designs. His emphasis was still in the area of functional art work, mainly home furnishings and accessories in forged and fabricated stainless steel. His works included side tables, coffee tables, trays, lamps, luminaries, and bathroom and kitchen hardware.
Recently, he has added salvaged wood as a component of his tables, often using epoxy resin with inlays. Sizes range to suit the client and include coffee tables, dining tables, bars and side tables.
